Le 26 juin vers 14h, un véhicule avec un GIC a voulu stationner sur cet emplacement pour mener des personnes aveugles voir l'exposition qui se déroulait à la mairie d'Avignon à l'occasion du bicentenaire de Louis Braille. Comme l'indique l'ombre, le coin de la rue est proche et le véhicule étant long, il s'agit d'un minibus Volkswagen California, il était dangereux de stationner dans le virage. Le conducteur a demandé aux policiers de bien vouloir laisser cette place. Refus catégorique. Le responsable sur place de l'exposition est intervenu pour expliquer très poliment la situation. La réponse a été : « Voyez le problème avec la mairie » sans autre commentaire et sans qu'une quelconque explication soit donnée sur le fait que ce soit à la mairie d'expliquer pourquoi une voiture de police, avec des policiers qui ne semblaient pas handicapés, puissent occuper une telle place. Nous avons donc photographié la situation n'attirant pour tout commentaire que « Allez-y, faites toutes les photos que vous voulez », nous signifiant par là qu'ils étaient bien au dessus des lois et qu'ils ne risquaient rien. Nous avons peu de moyens d'action face à ce manque de civisme de corporation dont on pourrait attendre qu'ils montrent l'exemple, sinon de le faire savoir. J.-C. B.
